I think it can be difficult to get up to those 4000, it's kind of similare 
as it was for Genesi with their Pegasos boards, I think they sold around 
600 of their developemnt/beta boards and they had a market to target at, 
the Amiga community. It's first at their later design they have started to 
bring in real money (can't say if they have managed to break even or not).


I think that trying to get money from elsewhere than from sales is 
important to cover the cost of the OGD1, if you don't want to take a big 
loan at the bank and use your houses as security. The possbility for the 
public to contribute money to the project could be a good idea, but the 
amount of money generated this way will most likely be small compared to 
the needed.


I have difficulties to say how much I would pay for an OGD1, as I'm not in 
any way a developer, but an end user who wish to see a "final" product.
