I kinda think we NEED something of a general-purpose CPU in there in
order to handle the protocol with the display workstation.  At the
very least, we can use the one I'm going to have to design for OGA to
do DMA.

It doesn't have to be THAT complex, but it's much easier to write
software than design hardware to handle the protocol.
