Well, if we want to go that way, we could start
from MPEG4, which is a subset of h.264 and then slowly
add features until we see how much fits in.

Do you have a G550? If so, get MPlayer[1] and mga_vid[2]
from svn, compile, install and load mga_vid, compile MPlayer.
While you are downloading, you can get Elephants Dream
from [3] (the 1920 version) and try it. If it doesn't
play smoothly, try using -framedrop or -nosound
and let me know what the percentage of dropped frames is.
