It made the  make  -f Makefile.cvs work though. However, I still have some
problems building, however this is more of a distribution (Ubuntu ) problem
than anything else . I think I have some spare time this weekend, so I'll
try to get a look at it then.

The patch looks ok to me, anyone against commiting it?
