If you think it other way around it makes sense. See, the filter will slow
outside transients and also act as a fuse when really big zap arrives. My
friends baby once plugged rca tv-out to 230 VAC outlet and only the filter
inductor vaporized. The card still works and no harm to toddler either ;)
